32 trespassers detained in Azerbaijan last month

In December, the State Border Service took measures towards border security and continued fight against smuggling, illegal migration and drug trafficking, SBS press service told APA.

Last month 32 trespassers were detained in 27 cases. 12 of them were citizens of Azerbaijan, 10 - Uzbekistan, 4 - Georgia, 2 - Tajikistan, 2 – Nigeria, 1 – Iran and 1 - Ukraine. 10 people were detained in 6 cases on green border and 23 in 20 cases in the Caspian Sea and relevant measures were taken.

As a result of measures against crimes, 210 people wanted by the Azerbaijani law-enforcement bodies were revealed and handed over to the relevant bodies.

As a result of measures taken against drug trafficking, 11 493 gram narcotic substances were confiscated in 11 cases.

Smuggled goods worth AZN 153 380, 2 16 mm guns, 80 caps, 3 pneumatic pistols, 1600 pneumatic caps, 27 683 pyrotechnic devices, 1000 gram golden, 16 jewels, 1879 boxes of cigarettes, 2 boats, various medicines, alcoholic drinks and other consumption goods were seized last month.
