Local residents block way to Salyan Oil

More than 50 residents of Tazakand village of Salyan region closed the way to Salyan Oil Operating Company, head of Public Organization â€œAid to democracyâ€ Emin Mammadov told APA. According to the villagers who closed way the oil-wells exploited by Salyan Oil are situated near their houses and they suffered big casualties when regular shakings occurred.
The protester required compensation. Police arriving in the incident place dispersed the crowd. According to Emin Mammadov during confrontation Rahila Valayeva (born in 1940) received wounds. According to him, chairman of village municipality Khidmat Orujov claimed that oil-wells of Salyan Oil Operating Company are 100 meter far from dwelling houses. Public Organizationâ€™s chairman Varli, Kursangi, Aydingul and Yolustu villagesâ€™ municipalities applied court with no steps taken yet.
Salyan region Police departmentâ€™s deputy chief Mammad Gahramanov told APA some women in the mentioned village applied to Oil Salyan requiring compensation.
He denied cases of attempted meeting and confrontation. /APA/
