66 people evacuated from dangerous structure in Lankaran

Members of the emergency commission of Lankaranâ€™s Executive Power and experts of the South Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situation visited the site and after the examination they decided to evacuate residents of the building. Deputy chairman of the Lankaranâ€™s emergency commission Mohubbat Babayev told APA 66 people were evacuated from the building and temporarily settled in the houses rented by the executive power.

The building was built in 1929 and is on the balance of Narimanabad preserved fish factory. The relevant organizations were informed about the dangerous structure many times, but no measures were taken. â€œIn 1950s, the building was used as a hostel for the German prisoners, who were constructing railway in Lankaran. In 2003, it was given to the balance of the preserve fish factory. The Cabinet of Ministers and other relevant organizations will be asked to help repairing the buildingâ€, Babayev said.
