The heavy rains were recorded at the bottom of the Great Caucasus mountains in Zagatala and Balakan regions. The water-level in the region’s major rivers – Talachay, Katekhchay, Balakenchay, Mazim, Siolban and Mazikh is above normal.

The stream, appeared as a result of water level raising in Silban river in Zagatala region, destroyed the bridge, which ensured the population’s intercourse with the city center, as a result of the overflow of Mazikh river, situated in the region’s Mazikh village, the courtyard areas of some dwelling houses and hazel gardens remained under rainwater.

The water level in Talachay was also above normal. The water destroyed some electric posts causing pauses in electric supply to the region’s some villages.

Local officials of Balakan region said that the heavy rains in the mountains created a risk of overflow in the major rivers situated in the region.
