Gunman attacks police station in Baku, 2 police officers wounded

The law-enforcement bodies told APA that the incident was recorded in the Sabunchu district Police Officeâ€™s Police Station â„–14 on August 21. Uknown person, who attacked the Police Station, wounded two police officers.

Spokesman for the Interior Ministry Ehsan Zahidov confirmed the fact to APA. He gave details about the incident and said that on August 20 at 23.45 the Police Station â„–14 was informed that resident of Mashtaga settlement Adalat Aliyev threatened to kill his family members. The operational investigative group consisted of the employees of the Police Station was immediately sent to that address, but the police officers didnâ€™t find Aliyev at home.

Half an hour later after the incident, Aliyev came to the Police Station â„–14 and wounded the stationâ€™s investigator, police senior lieutenant Elmaddin Kochariyev with a knife in head. Aliyev also wounded the stationâ€™s responsible duty officer, senior lieutenant Matlab Malikov in arm. Aliyev was detained.

During the house-check, police identified that during threatening his family members, Aliyev opened fire from â€œMakarovâ€ pistol for three times in order to kill his wife Khalida Aliyeva.

During the examination of Aliyevâ€™s house, the investigators seized 1 pistol, 6 bullets, 1 bullet charger and 3 cartridge cases.

Police officer Matlab Malikov, who was wounded during the incident, was discharged from the hospital after the first medical aid. The situation of other police officer Elmaddin Kochariyev is reported serious.

The criminal case has been launched on the fact by Sabunchu District Prosecutorâ€™s Office, the investigation is underway.
