Former deputy candidate claims he kills friend because of foul expression, but no debt dispute, investigator says

Criminal investigator of the Nasimi District Prosecutorâ€™s Office Vusal Tagiyev told APA that in his testimony, Orujov said that he killed Rovshan Rustamov because of foul expression. The criminal investigator said that they werenâ€™t companions, but just friends. â€œThey havenâ€™t debt dispute. The dispute occurred from other reasons. But it is wrong to publicize it because investigation is still underwayâ€. Tagiyev said that Orujov was brought to investigation as a suspect, the pretrial detention has not been chosen on him yet.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs released official statement on the incident saying that owner of car wash point situated in Nasimi District Nadir Orujov shot dead resident of Ganja city Rovshan Rustamov with â€œMakarovâ€ pistol in his car wash point at 16.10 on June 8. Orujov voluntarily came to Nasimi District Police Officeâ€™s 19th Police Station and handed over his â€œMakarovâ€ pistol.

Orujov Nadir Oruj was candidate for parliament from Binagadi II Electoral District â„–9 in 2005, Nasimi I Electoral District â„– 21 in 2010. He is the head of Azerbaijani Representation of the World Azerbaijanis Congress chaired by Gulamrza Sabri Tabriz. He is chief executive of â€œZiver Nadirâ€ Production Commercial firm, owner.

The criminal case has been launched under the Criminal Codeâ€™s articles â„– 120.1 (deliberate murder) and â„–228.1 (Illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation or carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies, explosives).
