Oruj Zalov: â€œPolice credibility increased as a result of cooperation between Azerbaijan and OSCEâ€

Baku. Habil Suleymanzadeh â€“ APA. â€œAbout 4 thousand citizens became members of public councils in recent years established within the community policing project. It helps police in prevention of crimesâ€, said Azerbaijanâ€™s deputy interior minister Oruj Zalov at the international conference on community policing organized by the OSCE Office in Baku. According to the deputy minister, different events have been held in Azerbaijani regions within this project. The trainings in Mingechevir within the community policing project were especially successful. Zalov said police credibility among the population increased as a result of cooperation between Azerbaijan and OSCE. The serious achievements were reached towards the prevention of crime and citizen-police cooperation. Deputy Minister also said that the public councils were very useful tools and police makes reports to population via these councils as well as gives various instructions.
