Representatives of Human Rights Commissionerâ€™s Office meet with persons detained during March 11-12 protest actions

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. Under the instructions of Azerbaijani Human Rights Commissioner, representatives of the Human Rights Commissionerâ€™s Office visited the detention facility for administrative offences of Baku Main Police Office to meet with the persons detained during March 11-12 protect actions. Some of the detainees refused one-on-one meeting, but said they did not complain of the detention conditions and treatment. Some of the detainees asked to give them copies of the court decisions, the representatives of the Human Rights Commissionerâ€™s Office told the administration about it and the problem was solved.

Javad Rustamov, who was arrested administratively for ten days under the decision of Sabail district court, said he underwent physical violence when he was detained by Sabail district police and was injured. Rustamov was examined, bruises were found on his left knee and shin.

Human Rights Commissioner appealed to Interior Minister, asked to investigate the fact and take necessary measures.
