11 former customs workers arrested in court room

According to APA, the process was presided over by Judge Azer Orujov. The court passed decision on their pre-trial detention and the defendants were arrested in the court room. The process will be continued on February 25.

Inspectors of the cargo department of Baku General Customs Office Museyib Azizov, Miralam Ismayilov, computer operators of Baku office of the Azerterminalcomplex foreign economic association Ismayil Ahmadov, Natig Guliyev and others committed illegal actions to avoid tax payment and to replace value added taxes.

They falsified customs declarations about importing refrigerator compressors through Agroleasing joint-stock company, importing fabricated metallic products and constructions by Electricguarshdirma enterprise from Russia-based Energomashstroy, by Samur-Absheron Water Construction from Russia-based Torgoviy Dom Company via railway.

Ahmadov, Gulyev, Azizov, ismayilov and others are charged with article 311.2, 311.3.1, 311.3.2 and 313 (bribery for illegal actions, falsification of official authorities). The preliminary investigation was conducted by the investigative department of the State Customs Committee and indictment was sent to the Republican Prosecutor Office.
