Appeal on court decision about Haji Movsum Samadovâ€™s pretrial detention not accepted

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. Nasimi district court of Baku held hearing on appeal on court decision about the pretrial detention of the chairman of Azerbaijan Islamic Party Haji Movsum Samadov. The appeal was about the replacing the pre-trial detention with home arrest, but the court rejected the appeal during the hearing presided over by Judge Elman Ahmadov, Samadovâ€™s lawyer Anar Gasimov told APA.

Under the decision of Nasimi District Court, Movsum Samadov was sentenced to 3-month pretrial detention. Samadov has been charged under articles #214.2.1 (terrorism committed on preliminary arrangement by group of persons, by organized group or criminal community (criminal organization), 214.2.3 (committed with application of fire-arms or subjects used as a weapon), 228.3 (Illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation or carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies (except for the smooth-bore hunting weapon and ammunition to it), explosives), 278 (Violent capture power or violent deduction power) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
