Organized crime gang attempting to smuggle narcotics from Azerbaijan to Russia rendered harmless - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Moscow. Farid Akbarov – APA. Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu and Russian Federal Drug Control Service chief Viktor Ivanov (FDCS) hold a joint press conference in Moscow, APA’s correspondent in Moscow reports. Ivanov said that as a result of successful joint measures taken by FDCS and Azerbaijani Ministry of National Security 400 kg hashish were found which were brought to Russia from Afghanistan. According to him, the Azerbaijani secret services informed the Russian relevant organizations on the great number of hashish which will be smuggled to Russia: “The leader of the organized crime gang which was smuggling narcotic drugs, citizen of Azerbaijan and Turkey was arrested as a result of joint operational measures. 390 kg Afghan hashish were confiscated as a result of three large-scale operations”.

Ambassador Bulbuloglu said that he highly assessed cooperation between the two countries’ secret services in drug traffic control. He said that the drugs are the transnational problem: “This problem worries the entire world. That’s why we need to jointly fight against it”.

Bulbuloglu said that the agreement was signed between Azerbaijan and Russia on state border delimitation: “The Azerbaijani Parliament ratified this document. Now the Russian Duma must ratify this document. After that the both countries’ border services will work effectively”.
