Chief of Turkeyâ€™s National Intelligence Organization Hakan Fidan pays official visit to Azerbaijan

Turkish guests, Minister of National Security Eldar Mahmudov and a group of officers of the ministry visited the graves of Heydar Aliyev and academician Zarifa Aliyeva in the Alley of Honor, Martyrs Alley and Turkish Martyrsâ€™ Lane.
Following this, Eldar Mahmudov received Hakan Fidan. Minister said the first visit of Hakan Fidan as chief of Turkeyâ€™s Intelligence Organization will play an important role in the expansion of the cooperation between the intelligence agencies of the two countries. Eldar Mahmudov gave detailed information about the ongoing processes in the region, realities and various threats, operating condition and factors influencing it, activities carried out by Azerbaijan concerning security problems, consequences of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.

The sides exchanged views on the work done to combat transnational crimes, terrorism, illicit drug turnover, migration processes, the related problems, discussed the prospects of productive cooperation between the intelligence agencies of Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Hakan Fidan said he is satisfied with the results of the discussions on the security interests of the two countries. He noted that the visit to Azerbaijan made pleasant impressions on him. Chief of Turkeyâ€™s National Intelligence Organization underlined that the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan, as well as relevant structures are developing, expressed his confidence that the meetings will strengthen the strategic partnership between the countries.
A number of other issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
