The town police office told APA’s south bureau that district police officer Rufulla Feremez Nurullayev, 49, was knifed on the line of duty by a man called Etibar in Shehidler Khiyabani street.
The injured police officer was taken to the resuscitation department of Lankaran Central Hospital. Doctor on duty Telman Khurshudov told APA’s local bureau that Rufulla Nurullayev underwent four-hour surgery, he is in critical condition.
The police detained Etibar Baloglan Babayev, 32, on November 19.
Lankaran police office is investigating the fact.
