European Court of Human Rights passes judgment on appeals of Eldar Salayev and Farhad Aliyev

APA reports quoting the website of the court that one of the judgments was passed on the appeal of former President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Eldar Salayev and the other on the appeal of former Minister for Economic Development Farhad Aliyev.
The court holds that there has been a violation of Article 5 Â§ 1 of the Convention with respect to Eldar Salayev.
The European Court holds that there have been violations of Article 5 Â§ 1, Article 5 Â§ 3, Article 5 Â§ 4 and Article 6 Â§ 2 of the Convention with respect to Farhad Aliyev. The court holds that within three months the respondent State is to pay the applicant EUR 16,000 in respect of non-pecuniary damage and EUR 25,000 in respect of costs and expenses.
