Armenia-captured Azerbaijani citizen is released

The handover process is held in a neutral area in the contact line near Bala Jafarli village of Azerbaijanâ€™s Gazakh region on the Gazakh-Ijevan road, APA correspondent reports from the site. Officials of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) representing the Azerbaijani side crossed the contact line to take over the captive.

Journalists are not allowed to enter the territory where the handover process is going on.

Relatives of resident of Azerbaijanâ€™s Tovuz region Eldar Tagiyev, captured by Armenians, also arrived at site, but identity of the released captive is still unknown.

News Armenia website quoted the Armeniaâ€™s defense ministry on Wednesday as saying that an Azerbaijani citizen illegally crossed the Armenian borders will be released on Thursday. His name has not been publicized.
