Nearly 25 villages flooded in Azerbaijan’s Zardab village

According to APA local bureau, nearly 600 houses, as well as basements of administrative and residential buildings were flooded and six houses were seriously damaged in the town of Zardab. Nearly 25 villages on the banks of Garasu and Kura rivers, including 2 000 ha of agricultural fields were flooded. A bridge over Garasu River faced with threat of removal.

The regional emergency commission discussed the current situation and took necessary measures. The emergency officials visited the disaster areas. The regional unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Aghdam delivered 30 tents for temporary settlement of the residents evacuated from the dangerous areas.

The schools and kindergartens are expected to be closed temporarily due to emergency situation.

Local residents told APA that population was warned about flood threats in Gorugbagi and Sarigaya villages of the region. The children were recommended not to go to the school and to stay at home.
