OSCE intends to organize joint events with Caucasian Muslims Board

Baku – APA. Chairman of Caucasian Muslim Board (CMB) Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade has today received OSCE Project Coordinator in Baku Alexis Chahtahtinsky.

CMB Press Service told APA that CMB Chairman gave information about the state-religion relations, equal opportunities for all citizens regardless of their religious affiliation, the state care to the construction and restoration works of religious and cultural monuments in Azerbaijan.

The OSCE official said the organization has tolerance projects and noted that traditions of tolerance in Azerbaijan are very important for the whole of Europe. Chahtahtinsky said that they intend to hold joint events along with promoting this practice in the near future.

Chahtahtinsky expressed his confidence that such measures will be important in fighting against the growing trend of radicalization in the world and stressed that it is important to promote the practice of Azerbaijan that has historical traditions of tolerance and that is supporting the idea of multiculturalism at the state level, all over the world.

At the end of the meeting, books reflecting the activities of the CMB were presented to the OSCE official.
