APA reports citing Georgian sources that Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze made this statement while commenting on the brawl occurred among the fans during the match between Nefthci and Chikhura.
“I think this was sabotage. Saboteurs won’t get what they’re seeking”, he said
On July 31, during the Nefthci-Chikhura match held as part of the Europa League’s third qualifying round, a group of Georgian fans attempted to commit sabotage. At the stadium Bakcell Arena, they hang a map depicting the Azerbaijani districts of Zagatala and Gakh as part of Georgia.
This act outraged local fans in the stadium and brought about a clash. However, swift action taken by the local police prevented the incident from turning into a mass riot.
