The Embassy reemphasized that France has not built any relation with the de facto regime in Nagorno-Karabakh and the self-declared regime does not have any representation accredited in the French government.
With respect to French parliamentarians’ regular visits to Nagorno-Karabakh, the Embassy said the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development systematically reminds those wanting to visit Nagorno-Karabakh of the country’s position on this regime, persuading them to change their mind.
“In France, however, the persons, who are elected on the principle of separation of powers, have freedom of travel and the French government cannot forbid them from visiting Nagorno-Karabakh,” the Embassy stated.
