Azerbaijani President signs order on some measures on Azerbaijan hosting First European Games

APA reports that the Cabinet of Ministers is due to take relevant measures within 2 months to arrange the accreditation system of persons involved in the arrangement of the European Games as well as the participants of the games, determine the circles of the persons to be accredited, confirm the rule for accreditation and the form of accreditation card, take necessary measures to ensure the work of accreditation system.

It was defined that foreigners that have passed accreditation and people lacking citizenship who reside in foreign countries can come to and go out of the Republic of Azerbaijan with a passport or other documents necessary for border-cross and the accreditation card within the period from 60 days before the First European Games to 30 days after the games.

Foreigners who have obtained a ticket for the European Games and people lacking a citizenship who permanently reside in foreign countries can get a visa at structural departments of the Consular Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs located at international airports of the republic of Azerbaijan beginning from 10 days before the games start.

When requesting a visa, it’s necessary to present a ticket for the European Games or the document confirming the acquisition of a ticket.

Foreigners who are involved in labor activity in Azerbaijan for the arrangement of the First European Games and have undergone the accreditation process and people lacking a citizenship who reside in foreign countries are not required to get work permission.

The Ministry of Finance and the Foreign Ministry are due to solve issues of logistics on arranging the process of giving issuing to persons coming to Azerbaijan for the First European Games at international airports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Foreign Ministry is due to inform the European Olympic Committee and relevant bodies of foreign countries on simplifying the visa-related procedures for persons coming to Azerbaijan for the First European Games, ensure publishing the information about simplifying the visa-related procedures for those persons on the internet information resources of the ministry as well as Azerbaijan’s embassies and consulates in foreign countries.

The Azerbaijan State Migration Service is due to inform companies carrying out flights to Azerbaijan about simplification of the visa-related procedures for persons coming to Azerbaijan for the First European Games.
