Azerbaijani President congratulates French counterpart

The letter reads:

“On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to You and your people on the occasion of the national holiday of the French Republic.

Today, the relations between Azerbaijan and France are developing successfully in accordance with their historical traditions. High-level political ties between our countries, mutually beneficial cooperation that are constantly expanding in economic sphere, diversified and sustainable humanitarian and cultural ties are specific features of Azerbaijan-France relations.

Your recent visit to Azerbaijan, discussions that we held, signed documents are all, without doubt, have largely contributed to the development of our bilateral relations.

We are pleased with France’s interest in building peace and tranquility in the South Caucasus. At the same time, we have high expectations of the efforts of France as a co-chairing country of the OSCE Minsk Group and your efforts, Mr President, in order to put an end to the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan, eliminate the negative consequences of the conflict resulted in the occupation of 20 percent of our lands and our compatriots becoming IDPs and refugees in accordance with international legal norms, and settle the problem soon and justly.

I wish you robust health, success, and the friendly people of France permanent peace and prosperity.
