Baku- APA. "Azerbaijan has started to make big investments in Turkey. In the next 5-6 years, the volume of these investments will be at least $ 20 billion. I believe that mutual investment will ensure our interests and at the same time further strengthen our unity", - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the 4th Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States in Bodrum, Turkey, APA reports.
The President noted that the business forums, explore investment opportunities, access to third countries with the joint investment projects are one of the notable issues for the next period.
President Aliyev said that Azerbaijan is working to strengthen the unity of transport infrastructure: "Construction of the Baku -Tbilisi-Kars railway is a historic event. I am sure that next year, this road will be open. Thus, will be revived new Iron Silk Road. Implementation of this project will bring additional benefits to all members of the Board. Very pleased that both Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan expanding existing ports. At the same time the Caspian constructed new trading ports, so that we were fully prepared to increase freight traffic in the future. Construction of ports, railway Baku -Tbilisi-Kars, increased trade, transport along this road and other existing goods will increase our economic interests and at the same time enrich our work with concrete measures."
Speaking about successful cooperation in the field of energy, President Aliyev said that today, Azerbaijan provides transportation of petroleum products, oil from the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea to the West, that is playing the role of a transit, after the commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars, this role will grow even more.
"We intend to deepen cooperation in the energy sphere. There are all possibilities for it. Wide geography joins us. Some of our countries are rich in natural resources. These resources are available on the world markets by various routes. That is, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan has independent and diversified export routes. No country has problems related to exports. But in order to fully ensure our interests, to strengthen our unity, we have to take and I am sure will take joint action in this area," said Aliyev.
At the end of his speech, Azerbaijani President noted that cooperation in the coming years will be even stronger: "There are new initiatives. I think that at some point we have to think about creating a joint investment fund, since the financial situation of our country is very stable, good. We are not experiencing any problems. Even we ourselves have begun to provide loans to other countries."
