Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations Kemaleddin Heydarov meets with Chairman of Pakistani National Disaster Management Authority - PHOTO

Heydarov said that Islamabad supports our country’s fair position in resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in international organizations and Azerbaijan, in its turn, also supports Pakistan, a friendly country to it, in international events, the ministry told APA.

The Minister said that there are broad prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation between relevant agencies of our countries in prevention of emergency situations and elimination of their consequences. Pakistani young people can be trained in the civil defense and fire fighting at the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan.

The guest, in his turn, said that Pakistan was one of the countries which recognized the independence of Azerbaijan and always supports Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. “In contrast to it, Islamabad hasn’t established diplomatic relations with Armenia", he noted.

He appreciated Heydarov’s proposals and said that the NDMA intends to cooperate more closely with their Azerbaijani counterparts.

The sides thoroughly exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
