Iran's new Foreign Ministry spokesperson Marzieh Afkham commented on the replacement of Persian inscriptions in Nizami Ganjavi tomb Iran-Azerbaijan relations at her first press conference held for local and foreign journalists today: “Though Azerbaijanis are trying to do something for the culture, these steps are contrary to culture. If the question is the translation of the poems from Persian into Turkish, this is something new and valuable. On the contrary, if these translations serve provocative and racist goals of certain forces, then they will contradict the culture. I hope that Azerbaijan will pay attention to the development and value of its culture as a part of Iran’s culture.”
