“Germany and Azerbaijan cannot remain outside major crises and wars, even in times like these,” German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said at a joint press conference with President Ilham Aliyev, APA's correspondent dispatched to Berlin reports.
“We had to postpone this meeting because of the war with Iran. However, this once again demonstrates that our countries cannot remain outside major crises and wars, even in times like these. This also applies to the situation in the Middle East. At the same time, it applies to Russia’s war against Ukraine. Germany and Azerbaijan are significantly affected by both of these wars, despite their different characteristics, in terms of security policy and economic interests. We support resolving all conflicts through negotiations. We believe that only solutions achieved through negotiations can ultimately ensure lasting peace, security, and stability,” Friedrich Merz said.
