Israel's leadership is seeking to persuade the US administration to resume full-scale military operations against Iran, the Wall Street Journal reports, citing sources.
According to the report, Israel has provided the United States with intelligence claiming that Iran has moved uranium enrichment centrifuges into underground tunnels beneath Mount Kirka near Natanz. Israeli intelligence estimates that the tunnels reach a depth of up to 140 meters.
The report says Israeli officials expect this intelligence to influence Washington's next steps toward Iran and encourage the United States to launch a new wave of strikes aimed at further degrading Iran's missile capabilities and destroying facilities linked to its nuclear program.
WSJ notes that during previous waves of strikes this spring and in June 2025, the Mount Kirka area was not included among the priority targets.
The newspaper also recalls that the United States and Iran signed a memorandum in June providing for an immediate halt to military operations. However, on the night of July 8, Washington announced the resumption of large-scale strikes on Iran, accusing Tehran of violating the terms of the agreement related to the Strait of Hormuz.
