The number of protests and protestors decreased, but we can’t still talk about peace and stability,” Azerbaijani Ambassador to Egypt Shahin Abdullayev told APA. He said that following the evacuation of 48 Azerbaijani citizens, a few more Azerbaijanis appealed to the Embassy intending to leave the country: “We received some phone calls from our citizens who wanted to leave Egypt on the days of mass demonstrations. However they have changed their minds as the demonstrations stopped and wanted to stay there. The Embassy is ready to help them. We have been appropriately instructed, the safety of our citizens is a priority for us.”
Abdullayev said that hot line of the Embassy is still available for the appeals of the Azerbaijani citizens. The Embassy is operating as usual.
The plane of the Ministry of Emergency Situations evacuated the Azerbaijani citizens from Egypt in August.
