Iran's military said it targeted a U.S. military base in Kuwait in response to recent U.S. missile strikes on Iranian territory.
According to a statement released by the Iranian Army's Public Relations Office, the 18th phase of Operation "Lightning" targeted U.S. Army HIMARS rocket systems deployed at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait using surface-to-surface missiles.
The statement said HIMARS is a highly mobile rocket system and claimed its destruction would weaken U.S. offensive, air defense, and missile capabilities. Iran did not provide evidence or details on the outcome of the strike. U.S. and Kuwaiti officials have not yet commented on the claim.
