Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan sets an example of tolerance to the world

The Global Baku Forum has turned into an influential international platform, said Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.

The president made the remarks Thursday addressing the opening ceremony of the 6th Global Baku Forum titled “Bridging Gaps to Create Inclusive Societies”, APA reports.

"This Forum is being held for the 6th time now and has turned into an influential international platform. I’m confident that we will discuss the most pressing issues of the international agenda and make initiatives to ensure stability,” the head of state said.

The president also reminded that Azerbaijan hosted the inaugural European Games in 2015 and 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017.

“Such events bring together representatives of different nationalities and people of different minds,” he said.

The head of state also stressed the importance of the Baku Process.

"The Baku Process, which began in 2008, is a very important process. Great work is being done to reach understanding between peoples and states. Our efforts are aimed at strengthening stability, security and mutual understanding,” he added.

Speaking of the tolerant atmosphere prevailing in Azerbaijan, President Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan sets an example to the world in this respect.

The head of state thanked the co-chairs and participants of the 6th Global Baku Forum.
