APA reports quoting Turkish media that Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kyrgyzstan's President Almazbek Atambayev, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as ministers of foreign affairs, culture and tourism of the above-mentioned countries are attending the summit.
Delivering a keynote speech, Turkish president Abdullah Gul said that there was necessity for the establishment of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States: “As we have strong relations, we couldn’t let our cooperation remain at the bilateral level. The summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States, being held since 2009, has become a symbol of unity and solidarity among the Turkic peoples. Our goal is to establish a regional partnership that will support other regional cooperation mechanisms.”
The President said that they would cover all the issues that are beneficial to the peoples, especially focus on tourism.
