Members of Norway’s Security Policy Commission have meetings in Baku

Baku. Lachin Sultanova–APA. Members of the Security Policy Commission of Norwegian Government arrived in Baku. Embassy of Norway in Azerbaijan told APA that the members of the commission were in Baku from March 8 and held meetings with Samad Seyidov, Chairman of the Parliament’s Committee for International and Interparliamentary Relations, politologists, heads of NGOs, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Azerbaijan. They held a meeting with students of faculty on Scandinavian Studies at Azerbaijan University of Languages. They are expected to meet Araz Azimov, Deputy Foreign Minister and officials of SOCAR.
The commission was established as a public council, which gives recommendation to the Norway’s Government on security issues. The members of the commission visit different regions of the world every year. Well-known political figures, including former energy minister, former deputy foreign minister, former parliamentarians and representatives of the non-governmental organizations are involved in the 15-member commission.
The delegation will visit Tbilisi.
