In the first half of 2026, Azerbaijan’s natural gas exports to the European Union (EU) increased by 3%, or 0.2 billion cubic meters, compared to the same period last year, APA-Economics reports, citing a report by the International Energy Agency (IEA).
According to the report, during the same period, gas supplies via pipelines from North African countries to the European Union increased by 5%, or 0.8 billion cubic meters.
According to the IEA, in the first half of 2026, Russia’s gas exports to the European Union via pipelines also increased by 5%, or 0.4 billion cubic meters year-on-year.
The report notes that in the first half of 2026, the share of Russian gas transported via pipelines in Europe’s gas demand was around 8%.
Recall that the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via TAP began on December 31, 2020.
