Benita Ferrero Valdner: â€œWe support the territorial integrity of Georgia, Ukraine and Moldovaâ€

Baku. Lachin Sultanova-APA. â€œGeorgia, Ukraine and Moldova can relay on EUâ€™s support in respect with the territorial integrityâ€, said Benita Ferrero Valdner, the EU Commissar on External Relations and the European Neighborhood Policy, whilst delivering a speech at the European Parliament. According to her, Eastern Partnership and European Neighborhood Policy demonstrate EUâ€™s legal interests in the region. â€œOur partners like Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova can relay on our support in respect with the territorial integrityâ€, she said and added the European Commission was ready to accelerate the works on proposals regarding to development of Eastern Partnership.

Thus, Ms. Benita Ferrero Valdner did not tell the name of Azerbaijan while speaking about the countries territorial integrity of which supported by the European Union. According to information APA received from the Representation of the European Commission in Azerbaijan in this regard, the organization recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Benita Ferrero Valdnerâ€™s Spokesman Christian Homann told APA that the commissioner told these words while sharing views on the developments in Georgia and this statement did not concern to Nagorno Karabakh at all. Ms. Benita Ferrero Valdner stated that the European Union recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and closely followed the regulation process of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
