Elmar Mammadyarov receives copy of credentials of new Cubaâ€™s ambassador to Azerbaijan

Baku. Lachin Sultanova â€“ APA. Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has received newly-appointed ambassador of Cuba to Azerbaijan Marcello Kabaliero Torres, the ministry told APA. The ambassador expressed his satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations with Azerbaijan and highly appreciated the works done in the country after the opening of Cubaâ€™s Embassy.

The diplomat noted that his country was interested in improving economic cooperation and achieving concrete results and underlined the importance of importing oil products and foodstuff from Azerbaijan.

Elmar Mammadyarov noted the necessity of the initiatives on cooperating in humanitarian sphere, organizing culture days and informing both communities.

Discussions between the ministries, the issues to be discussed at the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission, contacts between diplomatic academies and exchange of diplomats were discussed during the meeting.

Ambassador Torres presented the copy of his credentials to the minister.
