Ganira Pashayeva: â€œRussiaâ€™s act has laid the foundation of a serious tendency in the whole worldâ€

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. â€œI consider Russiaâ€™s decision to recognize South Ossetia and Abkhazia as independent states is wrong. The decision laid the foundation of a serious tendency not only in the region, but the whole world. Generally, the decision itself may be considered a danger for Russia in futureâ€, head of Azerbaijan-Georgia interparliamentary friendship group Ganira Pashayeva told journalists, APA reports. She said that Russiaâ€™s decision might be unambiguously assessed as the violation of international legal norms and principles.
â€œWith this step Russia refused to recognize Georgiaâ€™s territorial integrity. This decision showed that the UN Security Council has become a formal organization, lost its levers of influence on the ongoing processes in the world. On the other hand, it will cause serious questions in OSCE,â€ she said.

Ganira Pashayeva underlined the significance of the world communityâ€™s condemning Russiaâ€™s decision and recognizing Georgiaâ€™s territorial integrity.
â€œThe position of the world community is a warning for the separatist regimes in Nagorno Karabakh and Transdnestria,â€ she said.
