Istanbul –APA. “Caucasian Stability Pact proposed by Prime Minister Receb Tayyip Erdogan is not a right initiative”, Deputy Chairman of the Republican People’s Party CHP and member of the Parliament from Bursa Onur Oymen told APA Turkish bureau. He said it was not right time to implement this initiative. “How the stability will be established in the Caucasus when 20 per cent of Azerbaijani lands are under the occupation. It is impossible to bring these countries together while tensions between Russia and Georgia. I think what Turkey has to do in the Caucasus is to work for liberation of Azerbaijani lands. The government has to explain it to the West at first and to support Georgia’s territorial integrity seriously. It is not correct to initiate the pact which is strengthening Russia’s influence in the region”. Onur Oymen said the government’s initiative didn’t meet NATO interests. “This proposal is contrary to NATO, the organization we have joined for 56 years. Today many things in the Turkey-Armenia relationship happen out of the Armenia’s will. I don’t think that Armenia will step back from its groundless claims against Turkey and I don’t think that the Caucasian stability pact will be realized”.
