Azerbaijani ambassador to Syria Mahir Aliyev and the embassy’s employees left Syria, Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev told journalists, APA reports. According to him, ambassador and employees of the diplomatic mission left Syria taking into account the current situation and security factors. It is unknown when the embassy will restore its activity in Damascus.
The bloody battles continue between opposition and Bashar al-Assad forces continue in Damascus and other cities. The opposition blasted Syrian State TV yesterday. Syrian Prime Minister Riyad Hijab escaped the country with his family and announced his desire to defect to the opposition.
