Azerbaijani citizens will have to obtain visa to reach Nakhchivan through Iran

Baku â€“ APA. â€œThe government of the Islamic Republic of Iran will introduce a visa regime for citizens of all countries of the world on the eve of Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement which will be held in Tehranâ€, says the information released by the Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan.

This decision was passed within the necessary security measures during the summit. According to information, the above-mentioned decision will be in force on August 5-31 for citizens of all countries. The previous situation will be restored after the summit.

The embassy notes that according to this instruction, all foreign citizens must address this countryâ€™s diplomatic representations abroad to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Azerbaijani citizens who were going to Nakhchivan by car had to pass through the territory of Iran. According to new decision, the Azerbaijani citizens going to Nakhchivan through Iran and returning back from the same direction will have to obtain visa from Iranâ€™s consulate in Nakhchivan and embassy in Baku.
