Baku – APA. Commissioner of the UNESCO/ITU Broadband Commission for Digital Development, chairman of the working group on UN E-Government Development, member of the Eurasia Dialogue Center Board, Ambassador Walter Fust will be on a visit to Azerbaijan from September 29 to October 5, 2012, co-founder of the Eurasia Dialogue Center, UN Young Ambassador Rovshan Muradov told APA.

Fust will hold a series of meetings with the Azerbaijani officials and visit Ganja City to attend the Nizami Ganjavi’s 870th anniversary events.

It is not the commissioner’s first visit to Azerbaijan. During his first visit, Ambassador Fust expressed his thoughts about the so-called “Armenian genocide” issue. He said this issue should be researched by the historians, but not politicians. “Why don’t the world’s leading researchers investigate this issue? It is not correct to create artificial obstacles in the contemporary period of the development only because of historical misunderstandings”.

Fust said he witnessed how Turkey saved the church and historical archives. “The materials found in these archives should be translated into different languages. Let the problems to remain in the history and the intellectuals to research the historical issues”.
