Nezavisimaya Gazeta: “Azerbaijan doesn’t agree to extend lease of Gabala Radar Station for 49 years”

Moscow. Farid Akbarov – APA. Azerbaijan refuses to sign agreement on renewal of lease of Gabala Radar Station as Moscow wants – for 49 years, said “Nezavisimaya Gazeta”, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

The article says that Azerbaijan can give consent only for 5-7 years, but it is unprofitable for Russia.

Russian Defense Ministry decided to reduce the territory of Gabala Radar Station. Besides, the decision was passed on reduction of military personnel, as well as personnel of Russian sector of Azerbaijani school where wives and children of Russian servicemen were working and getting education there respectively. Following this decision, spouses of servicemen addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin collectively and individually and asked him to protect their social rights.
