APA reports quoting Iranian press that responding to questions of local and foreign journalists, Mehmanparast said that genocide of Muslims in Myanmar grieved the Islamic world: “The Muslims’ rights must be protected in all countries. Iran addressed the international communities concerning this issue and demanded to follow this issue closely and support the world Muslims”.

He also touched on the meeting organized between Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Baqeri and EU Deputy High Representative for Foreign Affairs Helga Schmid: “The framework of negotiations held between Iran and the “six” countries was identified. That’s why we must wait for the result of negotiations”.

Mehmanparast said that there are some forces that want the violation of security and stability in Syria: “But the plan of UN-Arab League Joint Special Envoy Kofi Annan has not been defeated yet.”

He also spoke about Iran-Azerbaijan relations and so-called “presidential elections” in Nagorno Karabakh: “Today, the relations between the two countries are very good. Historical and cultural ties connect Iran and Azerbaijan. But unfortunately, some forces are concerned about the good relations between the two countries. That’s why the officials of both countries must be vigilant and shouldn’t allow deteriorating of these relations.”

Mehmanparast underlined that so-called “presidential elections” held in Nagorno Karabakh by separatist regime has a negative effect on the negotiations process on the settlement of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
