Members of UK Parliamentâ€™s friendship group with Azerbaijan arrive in our country on a visit

The European Azerbaijan Society told APA that the delegation includes members of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The parliamentarians - Christopher Pincher (chairman of the friendship group), Jason McCartney, Bob Blackman, Andrew Stephenson, Warren Clegg, Stephen Hepburn and Lord Laird will visit lay a wreath at grave of national leader Heydar Aliyev, Eternal Flame Complex in the alley of Martyrs and monument erected in the Upland Park to the memory of English soldiers died in Baku in 1918.

Their visit is organized by the European Azerbaijan Society. Such visits are a result of strategic partnership relations created between Azerbaijan and UK and will contribute to the further extension of bilateral relations.

The UK parliamentarians will hold bilateral meetings with Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov, Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev, Chairman of the Central Bank Elman Rustamov, Executive Director of the State Oil Fund Shahmar Movsumov, in the OSCE and European representation in Baku, as well members of Azerbaijan-UK inter-parliamentary working group. The parliamentarians will also meet with representatives of Mountain Jews religious community in Baku.

The guests will become familiar with the development in Azerbaijanâ€™s regions and production facilities established in non-oil sector, meet with IDPs in newly-constructed IDP settlement and visit historical Alban temple in Nij village.
