He said the ministry keeps in touch with the embassy and is kept informed on the developments.

Syriaâ€™s Defense Minister General Daoud Rajha was killed and Deputy Defense Minister (brother-in-law of President Bashar al-Assad) and Interior Minister Were wounded. The security source told Reuters Shawkat died in a Damascus hospital where he was taken after the attack. It was reported that 15 more people were wounded as a result of terrorist act. The Syrian officials report that the state of the wounded Interior Minister is normal. Syrian Liberation Army and Liva al-Islam organization took responsibility for the terrorist.
