Farid Akbarov â€“ APA. â€œRussia announces once again that the settlement way of the Syria conflict is the implementation of Annan planâ€, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the briefing today, APAâ€™s Moscow correspondent reports. He said that Kofi Annan paid his second visit to Russia today: â€œIt shows that Russia supports Annan plan and sees the only settlement way of the conflict in implementation of this plan. Developments in Syria are terror. Many people die there. It must be immediately stopped, Bashar al-Assad must stop the massacre of civilians. We support the implementation of agreement achieved by us in Geneva. But the Western countries opposed it. We believe that the UN peacekeepers will play an important role in the stabilization of situation in Syria. We support the activity of the UN observer missionâ€.

Lavrov said that they didnâ€™t take any side in Syria conflict: â€œThe only desire of Moscow is a restoration of peace in Syria. We demand the Assad regime to stop the armed resistance. I want to note once again that we donâ€™t support Assad regime. We support the resolution of the UN Security Council, Annan plan and Geneva communiquÃ©â€.
