“Of course, we are concerned about this fact. This situation i.e. arrest of two our citizens oblige us to remind our citizens that it is not unsafe to visit Iranâ€.
Elman Abdullayev said that the arrest of our citizens in Iran was unpleasant fact: “Because our desire to meet with our citizens, this right was described in all international conventions, is not ensured. But we continue work in this direction. It is a number one priority for us. Azerbaijan doesn’t understand such approach of Iran against our citizens. We have not been informed yet about which crimes they were accused.â€
Azerbaijani poets Farid Huseyn and Shariyar Hajizadeh were arrested in Iran. The reason of their arrest is not announced. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry sent several official notes to Iran on it.
