Baku – APA. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received Minister of Education of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hamidrza Gadzhibabai on July 12. Press service of the Foreign Ministry told APA that the ministers discussed current situation of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Iran and exchanged view on processes in the region.
Mammadyarov took into account the joint culture, common history and neighborhood relations between the two countries and underlined that the contradictions didn’t correspond to the bilateral relations.
The Minister said that the country’s society was seriously concerned about the detainment of two young poets in Iran and demanded to create conditions for Azerbaijani diplomatic representation, consul to meet with these persons.
