Baku. Dunal Gurbanov â€“ APA. NATO Secretary Generalâ€™s Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai and Head of the Mission of Azerbaijan to NATO Khazar Ibrahim made speeches in the NATO International School of Azerbaijan (NISA). APA reports that Appathura informed the participants about the NATO-Azerbaijan cooperation on various directions. He said that Azerbaijan is one of the countries in the region, which plays a leading role in assisting NATO operations in Afghanistan.

Ibrahim said that Azerbaijan and NATO cooperated for 5 directions â€“ participation of the Azerbaijani alliance in peacekeeping operations, cooperation in carrying of transit cargos, security, cyber security and energy security. He specially noted the peacekeeping operation of Azerbaijan in Kosovo: â€œIt was our first contribution to NATO. Currently we are participants of the peacekeeping operation in Afghanistan.â€ Ibrahim said that non-military cargos were carried to Afghanistan through Azerbaijan.

NATO International School of Azerbaijan (NISA) opened on July 2 and will end on July 6.
