James Appathurai: â€œAzerbaijan will deliver further support to NATO on Afghanistan issueâ€

Appathurai said that he held meetings in hr Azerbaijani Presidential administration and Foreign Ministry and discussed cooperation: â€œWe have a good cooperation with Azerbaijan on Afghanistan. I want to thank the Azerbaijani government not only because of troops, but also its transit assistance to NATO. Azerbaijan renders assistance to Afghanistan on peacekeeping contingent, training administration and demining operations.

Appathurai also said that the negotiations were held between Azerbaijan and NATO on the transit of goods to Afghanistan: â€œAzerbaijan is NATOâ€™s reliable partner on transit to Afghanistan. Our troops are tighter there. We work with Azerbaijan. At the same time we want the transit of goods to Afghanistan to give economic benefit to Azerbaijanâ€.

Speaking about the 3rd stage of IPAP between Azerbaijan and NATO, Appathurai said the plan has been approved and negotiations were held with Azerbaijan on it: â€œWe have started the 3rd stageâ€.
