International Affairs Committee of Iranian Supreme Majlis has already started discussions on closing of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has no other way and thus it wanted to respond to sanctions. If Iran closed the Strait, then the war would be inevitable.â€
Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies Ruben Safrastyan said that in the event of war with Iran, Azerbaijan will use this: “Azerbaijan is using the occasion, try to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by military means. Western nations, particularly the U.S., this will give Azerbaijan a green light. Therefore, Armenia seriously approaches the war of Western countries with Iran and considers situation as a threat on the part of Azerbaijan.â€
Armenian politicians have also expressed relating to Iran’s role as a mediator in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. According Iskandaryan, in the current political situation in Iran’s participation as a mediator is not possible: “Armenia is a part of Iran as a mediator. However, from a practical point of view, it is impossible, because the current solution to the problem deals with the OSCE Minsk Group and Iran is not a member of this organization. I think that to transfer the settlement of the conflict from one format to another is impossible.
