Baku. Ali Ahmadov – APA. The negative reports released in German press concerning Azerbaijan don’t reflect the position of German government, said German Ambassador to Azerbaijan Herbert Quelle in his keynote speech at the 1st Azerbaijan- Northern Rein-Westphalia business forum, APA reports.

According to him, a campaign concerning on Azerbaijan was launched in the press on the eve of Eurovision Song Contest and negative reports were reflected there: “But it is not an opinion of German government. The developments on resignation of President Wulff showed that the German government can’t keep the press under impact. For example, it is impossible to govern the magazine like “Spiegel”. Rather, sometimes the press can impact the politicians and change their opinion”.

The ambassador noted that the German federal government is interested in further extension of relations in all spheres: “The German federal government works on extension of cultural and historical relations between the two countries. We consider that the Azerbaijani government has same position”.
